What is a Dental Appliance?

It takes more than just brushing and flossing. Some of us play sports, clench or grind our teeth or snore.

For these individuals, dental appliances can help preserve and protect our oral structures, and the health of our entire bodies.

Greentree Dental offers dental appliances such as mouth guards and sleep apnea devices to help protect the health of your oral cavity.

Snoring & Sleep Apnea Appliances

While sleep disorders disrupt your sleep, they can also negatively impact your general health and wellbeing.

In patients who snore, their relaxed throat tissues cause the airway to become restricted, creating the sound of snoring as oxygen is forced past.

For patients with sleep apnea, their throat tissues over-relax and obstruct the airway, forcing the brain to wake them up to breathe.

Your dentist at Greentree Dental can custom fit you for an oral appliance to move the lower jaw and tongue muscles to open the airway. This helps improve airflow and prevents you from waking during the night.

Custom-Fitted Mouth Guards

We offer custom-made mouth guards that fit over your teeth to protect them from damage.

Sports Guards

If you get hit in the mouth during a sports activity, a mouth guard provides a barrier between your teeth and the soft tissue of your mouth to protect your smile.

Night Guards

If you grind your teeth during sleep, a mouth guard will help protect your teeth from damage. If you clench your jaw, a night guard will also help prevent you from clenching and provide some pain relief.
